Registered Nurse
Russell County is seeking a registered nurse who is energetic and can work independently. Traveling is required with some over nights stays. Minimum qualifications include being a graduate of an accredited nursing school and possess a current license as a registered nurse in the state of Kansas. Must have experience with family health ranging in ages from newborn to elderly and be proficient with computers. Preference will be given to those who have knowledge with immunizations, WIC, and family planning. Must have a valid driver’s license. Also must carry own medical liability insurance. The Russell County Health Department is an equal opportunity employer. Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol Testing is required. Applications and complete job description may be picked up at the health department at 189 W. Russell County Highway Department
Operator II
Russell County Highway Department is now accepting applications for a full-time Operator I. This position is subject to truck driving and other related work throughout Russell County, as needed, using various types of light and heavy equipment. Applicants must have or be able to obtain a Class A CDL w/airbrakes for the Operator positions. 
Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol Testing is required.

EMS Positions
 
 
Mobile Intensive Care Technician:
 
Job Purpose:
Provides basic emergency care, advanced life support and transportation of the sick and injured. Assists in the maintenance of department facilities, vehicles and equipment. Performs 12 lead EKG's, security rounds, and assists hospital staff as needed.
 
 
Knowledge, Experience & Professional Credentials Required:
Licensure/Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Certified as an MICT in the state of Kansas. Must have a valid driver’s license. Ability to speak, write, and understand English.
 
 
Affirmations:     
 ACLS (PHTLS, PALS and Neonatal Resuscitation and Care are preferred)
 
 
Experience:             
At least one year of experience is preferred.
 
Job Knowledge:  
Ability to communicate with persons of various backgrounds in a tactful, courteous manner. Must have comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of Emergency Medical Services field and be able to incorporate such knowledge in all conditions varying from the usual to the extraordinary.
 
Emergency Medical Technician:
